Hunter Automotive honored for youth club support

Randy and Alice Hunter.

Hunter Automotive Group recently received the North Carolina Area Council 2014 CARE (Children Are Reason for Excellence) Award.

The award is given to an individual or business that has provided outstanding in-kind or direct support to a local Boys & Girls Club or Boys & Girls Clubs across the state. Randy Hunter and his wife, Alice, attended the ceremony in Raleigh to accept the award.
Through the last decade, Hunter Automotive Group has been the organization's largest corporate donor, giving in excess of $140,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County. The relationship between the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County and Hunter Automotive Group began after a club employee visited the dealership to buy a car. Before leaving, she asked to see the manager regarding his non-profit giving. To her surprise, she was granted a meeting immediately, and when she asked if the manager might be interested in a significant partnership with the Boys & Girls Club, the answer was yes. That initial 'yes' created great momentum. The outcome was an unprecedented corporate pledge of $50,000, making Hunter Automotive Group the Club's first ever "Business of Caring."
