TDA gets three new members

Three new members have been appointed to the Henderson County Tourism Development Authority to replace members who were term-limited.

The Board of Commissioners appointed Robert Danos to the seat held by Phyllis Rogers and Jennifer Blankenship to the seat held by her boss, Hampton Inn manager Bruce Pope. Danos is program director at Camp Mondamin. Blankenship is marketing director of the Hampton Inn.
The Hendersonville City Council appointed Sharon Carlyle, a real estate agent with Beverly Hanks, to the seat vacated by B.J. Ramer.
Danos, who serves on the Flat Rock Playhouse Board of Trustees, has appeared at TDA meetings to ask the agency to support the “stay and play” promotion that offers theater tickets for visitors who spend two nights in Henderson County.
“He kind of represents as well the camping industry,” said Beth Carden, the TDA’s executive director.
Board bylaws limit appointees to one five-year term. The new members were sworn in on Tuesday.
