Nurse anesthetists association names Apodaca top legislator

For the second consecutive year, the North Carolina Association of Nurse Anesthetists has named state Sen. Tom Apodaca the Legislator of the Year.The organization said it recognized the Hendersonville Republican for his sense of leadership and commitment to quality, affordable healthcare for all citizens across the state.

"Sen. Apodaca has always supported providing North Carolina citizens with the highest quality care, at the most affordable cost," NCANA President Jimmy Kimball said in a news release. "He understands why it's necessary to maintain reasonable costs, while also providing the highest quality service, one patient at a time."
Kimball and members of the NCANA board formally presented the Legislator of the Year award to Apodaca on Thursday at his district office in Hendersonville.
