The Special Needs Baseball league opened its spring season on Saturday, April 18. Formed by Donnie Jones, the league plays games starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday on fields 8 and 9 at Jackson Park. It’s the only baseball league where every hit is a single, every base runner scores and every team wins. Sponsors are Pardee UNC Health Care, Hunter Automotive Group, Four Seasons Rotary, the Hendersonville Lightning, the Henderson County Board of Commissioners, Park Ridge Health, Ecusta Credit Union, NC Printing and McDonald’s.
