Beam to compete in Miss Teen pageant

Kathlene Beam of Hendersonville has been selected to participate in the 2015 Miss Teen pageant competition on Sunday, Nov. 15.

Kathlene learned of her acceptance into this year's competition when the pageant announced its selections following interviews in the local Asheville area. Contestants will compete for thousands of dollars in prizes and specialty gifts. Kathlene will be competing in the Miss Teen division in modeling routines, which include Casual Wear and Formal Wear, and display her personality and interviewing skills while answering questions from a panel of judges. Personality is the number one aspect that each contestant is judged on during all phases of competition.

If Kathlene were to win the title of Miss Teen, she would represent Asheville and the surrounding communities at the National Competition in Orlando. More than $30,000 in prizes and awards will be presented at the National Competition while each winner enjoys this expense paid trip of five nights and six days in Orlando.

Community businesses, organizations, and private individuals will assist Kathlene in participating in this year's competition by becoming an official sponsor to her. Any business, organization or private individual who is interested in becoming a sponsor to Kathlene may contact the Miss Teen pageant coordinator, at 1-877-403-6678.

A  2015 graduate of Hendersonville High School, Kathlene is the daughter of Farrell and Heidi Beam of Hendersonville.
