Pardee finances remain strong in FY'17

Pardee Hospital continues to show strong gains in its financial performance this year over last year’s numbers, the Board of Directors was told.
The Finance Committee reported that year-to-date figures through April showed that total patient revenue exceeded $371 million and that overall the hospital a net gain of $2.3 million, which was $1.9 million ahead of budget.
The stronger revenue was driven by inpatient admissions, 4.34 percent higher than budget and 14.5 percent ahead of last year, and surgeries, with in-patient and out-patient operations up a combined 11.6 percent year to date over 2016. Emergency room visits were 3.8 percent under budget and even with last year. Pardee is in a nine-month fiscal year, from October to July, as it transitions from a federal calendar to state budget calendar.
The hospital board also welcomed new members John Bryant, the associate Henderson County schools superintendent, and Chip Gould, owner of Cason Builders Supply. Board members and Pardee CEO Jay Kirby thanked outgoing members Molly Parkhill, who retired as president of Blue Ridge Community College, and Dr. Peter Goodfield, who has led the successful work of the board’s Performance Improvement Committee and is retiring from his Hendersonville Cardiology Associates.
