County seeks feedback on 2045 comp plan (2)

As it nears the end of the new long-range comprehensive planning process, the Henderson County Planning Board is inviting public input and feedback on the draft plan. Three more public meetings are set, starting with one this evening in the apple country.

The 2045 Comprehensive Plan will inform decisions and guide growth within the unincorporated areas of the county for the next 20 years. The county diligently worked to incorporate as much public feedback as possible to craft the community vision.

“We will not rush the process in any way; instead, we will take an appropriate amount of time to understand what Henderson County residents want for the next 20-plus years," Planning Board Chair Steve Dozier said. “This is a growth plan for greenways, the preservation of our natural resources and reasonable housing growth."

The Draft 2045 Comprehensive Plan (excluding the Appendix) is now available online for public viewing. The county encourages all community members to read the Draft 2045 Comprehensive Plan and attend upcoming public input meetings to share their thoughts.

Meetings are set for 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at the Edneyville Community Center and 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Thomas Auditorium at BRCC and 2-4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3 at the Etowah Lions Club.
