Christmas tree recycling is set for Jan. 9 (2)

MountainTrue will host the annual holiday recycling event at ball field 6 at Jackson Park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9.

Area residents are invited to bring their Christmas trees, wreaths, broken string lights and used greeting cards to be mulched and recycled.

Sponsors are MountainTrue, City of Hendersonville, Henderson County, the 4-H club of the Henderson County Cooperative Extension Service and King Hardware & Rental.

Trees, wreaths, lights and greeting cards should be brought on that day. Trees and wreaths should be stripped of all decorations and lights. The mulcher has been provided by King Hardware & Rental and Hendersonville and Henderson County personnel will be on site to mulch the trees. Lights and cards will be recycled by the 4-H Club. MountainTrue volunteers will be on hand to help. Free mulch will be available to those that want to take some home for your garden and landscaping.
