County shifts covid test to Saturday to serve workers

The Henderson County Health Department is shifting its covid-19 testing day from Tuesday to Saturday next week in order to reach more working people. The next test open to the public is Saturday, Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at East Henderson High School, 150 Eagle Pride Drive, East Flat Rock. The testing site is at the school gym, at 85 Stadium Way.   Read Story »

Hot tub mist suspected in Legionnaires' outbreak at fair

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services said early findings in its investigation into the Legionnaires' disease outbreak at the N.C. Mountain State Fair suggest that mist from a hot tub display in the Davis Center may have caused the infection. The state Agriculture Department said it was suspending events at the Davis Center until it had completed a mitigation plan to ensure the public's safety.   Read Story »
