Tax credit financing goes to Frances Road, not Oklawaha

A Charlotte-based developer of affordable apartments has been awarded tax credit financing for its proposed 80-unit development on Frances Road in Hendersonville. Two other proposed developments, the 66-unit Oklawaha Village on North Main Street and the 72-unit Signal Ridge apartments on Signal Hill Road, did not receive authorization to finance construction through tax credits.   Read Story »

BOARD REJECTS ZONING FOR APARTMENTS

The Henderson County Board of Commissioners on Monday voted no on a proposed 64-unit apartment project for working families, saying that the high-density zoning was inappropriate for the area and that traffic was already hazardous. The board's vote, coming after a public hearing that lasted more than two hours, killed a $7 million Housing Assistance Corp. project that had been years in the making and was intended to fill what many human services agencies have described as the most pressing need for working families in high-priced Henderson County.   Read Story »

Council waives fee for affordable housing project

The Hendersonville City Council voted unanimously on Thursday to waive $175,000 worth of utility impact fees for a proposed affordable housing project on Pisgah Drive just west of Laurel Park.
