Volunteer firefighters get half-price hunting and fishing licenses

Volunteer firefighters in North Carolina who have served for five consecutive years will be eligible to purchase a lifetime hunting and fishing license from the Wildlife Resources Commission for half of the full cost.   Read Story »

River trespassing complaints 'a very gray area' for law enforcement

In a dispute over access to the Mills River, anglers and others who enjoy the river insist that their right to use the waterway is clear. Sanders awarded Trout Unlimited Arbuckle scholarship

A graduate student attending the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia has been named the 2019 recipient of the Pisgah Chapter of Trout Unlimited William L. Arbuckle Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.

ECCO's 'virgin birth' could make a splash in shark world

Kortney Clark used a pair of ordinary looking scissors to execute an extraordinary bit of marine animal surgery. Peering through a couple of inches of aquarium saltwater, she carefully cut an egg casing the thickness of a fingernail that enclosed a baby shark.
