Deputies 'did everything right' in confrontation that ended tragically, sheriff says

Woman shot dead vowed 'to do suicide by cop'

EAST FLAT ROCK —A woman who was shot dead by Henderson County Sheriff's deputies Monday told her caregiver that "she was going to do suicide by cop" if the caregiver called the law to her house in East Flat Rock, according to the tape of a 911 call the sheriff's office released on Tuesday. The caregiver did call 911, telling a dispatcher that the woman, who was on a presciption stimulant made to treat attention deficit disorder, had tried to choke her.   Read Story »
