Edwards set to get Chamber gavel

McDonald's restaurant franchise owner Chuck Edwards will become chair of the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce during the organization's 90th Annual Dinner and Awards Program on Jan. 25 at Kenmure Country Club.


Edwards will replace Vince Rees, the Mountain 1st Bank & Trust president who has served for the past year.
The dinner and program is presented by Duke Energy and Ford & Harrison. In addition to celebrating the accomplishments of 2012 and welcoming new officers and board members, the organization will honor a number of outstanding individual members. Awards presented during the event include the G. Ray Cantrell Lifetime Service Award, the Duke Energy Citizenship & Community Service Award, the First Citizens Bank Amazing Customer Service Award, the Wingate University Education Champion Award, the Van Winkle Law Firm Small Business Leader of the Year, and the Four Seasons Compassion for Life Chamber Ambassador of the Year.
Cost to attend the dinner and awards program is $50 per person or $500 for a reserved table of eight. Reservations must be made by Friday, Jan. 18. For more information, please call the Chamber at 828.692.1413.
