Donnie Jones has opened Jones Detailing at 1111 Asheville Highway beside Pryor Auto Sales across from Walgreens.
Jones has 30 years experience deep-cleaning cars and trucks for the public and for used car dealers.
"We get it ready to go on the lot," he said, "like making it new again." His motto: "Doin' it right for over 30 years."
A full detail job costs $125. His shop is also a certified N.C. auto inspection station.
Jones, who took a regular 8-5 job with a local car dealer after the death of his brother, Chat, last October, missed being his own boss and also needed time in the afternoons to pursue his off-duty passion, running Henderson County Special Needs Baseball.
"I couldn't do all my baseball stuff" at the dealership job, he said. "We'll also take the diapers to Balfour school. They can still drop them off here and I'll get 'em there."
Chat Jones founded the Balfour Babies program through the Kiwanis Club for the babies of single moms who attend Balfour School and donors were used to dropping off diapers at his sales lot. "We'll keep that a-goin' for Chat," Donnie Jones said.
