Democrats to view 'State of Conflict'

Local Democrats are hosting a viewing of the Bill Moyers documentary, "State of Conflict," which examined the role of campaign money in the rise of the Republican Party that resulted in supermajority control of the Legislature and the election of Republican Gov. Pat McCrory.

"Big money has moved North Carolina far to the right politically but citizen protesters are fighting back against extremist policies,'" the Bill Moyers website says of the film. "See why the conflict unfolding in North Carolina could be a testing ground for what's to come in every state."
The documentary will be shown at 7 p.m. Friday, March 28, at Democratic Party headquarters, 905 Greenville Highway.
The Democratic Party said a meet and greet before the showing of the documentary will include Henderson County sheriff candidate Marty Katz, state Senate candidate Rick Wood; 113th state House District candidate Norm Bossert, opposing Rep. Chris Whitmire; and 11th Congressional District candidate Keith Ruehl of Barnardsville.
