Meadows endorses McDonald

U.S. Rep. Mark Meadows endorsed Sheriff Charlie McDonald in the 2014 election, the McDonald campaign announced in a news release on Friday.

"I have gotten to know Sheriff McDonald well since my election to Congress in 2012," Meadows said in a news release. "I know his commitment to honor and service. His record alone, qualifies him to serve another term. I hope that the citizens of Henderson County will return this proven leader to office." Sheriff McDonald said: "I am very encouraged by and appreciative of Congressman Meadows' support of my campaign. It is not common for a sheriff to receive such open support from elected officials in a primary election. This is precisely what makes Congressman Meadows so popular in his district, however. He does what he believes is the right thing and lets politics sort itself. That's who he is."
