LIGHTNING PHOTOS: Grady Hawkins reads to children

County Commissioner Grady Hawkins read to children at the Henderson County Public Library.

Henderson County Commissioner Grady Hawkins read a children's book, Red Knit Cap Girl and the Reading Tree, during the 'I Love my Library Day' at the Henderson County Public Library last week.

"I asked for one of the county commissioners and he's the one who offered to do that," Library Director Trina Rushing said. "I thought he did a fabulous job. The kids were listening and they enjoyed him showing the pictures. He knew how to do it."

He's had practice.

"I've got four grandchildren and I had been reading to my grandson's class at Glenn Marlow," Hawkins said. "It's one of the more enjoyable parts of the job."
