McGrady honored as 'Friend of the Counties'

Rep. Chuck McGrady, of Hendersonville, and Rep. Howard J. Hunter III of Hertford County were named winners of the 2015 Friend of the Counties award for their continued support of county government.

Hunter, who served as president of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners in 2013-14, and McGrady were honored for continuing to represent the interests of counties as legislators. McGrady served on the Board of Directors before he was elected to the Legislature for the first time in 2010. The awards were announced during the NCACC annual convention last weekend in Greenville.
