Pat's dancers win $11,000 in scholarships

Twenty-six dance numbers received first place/high score recognition and all 52 numbers received Gold or Platinum awards when Pat's School of Dance students performed at the Dance Educators of America (DEA) Regional competition in Chattanooga March 2-3.

The studio, operated by Pat Shepherd and her daughter, Sheraton, competed in tap, jazz and hip hop dance.
The students earned dance training scholarships valued more than $11,000.
One student received a full scholarship to the University of Nevada at Las Vegas DEA Ballet Seminar in July. Pat's students also received one full and three half scholarships to attend the UNLV DEA Musical Theatre Intensive studio in July.
In addition, 34 students received scholarships for the DEA National Workshops to be held in Charleston in July.
The studio received nine special awards, one highest score of the day award and a choreography award.

The studio, now assisted by staff members Katie, Chelsie, Brittany, Amanda, Sarah and April, has been training students for the past 42 years in Hendersonville.
