MILLS RIVER — Kids enjoyed an Easter egg hunt, face painting and a bigger than life-sized Easter bunny as Mills River got a jump on the holiday Saturday.
Sponsored by the Mills River Business Association, Mills River Recreation Foundation, Friends of the Library, the Mills River Lions Club and TDBank, the Easter event attracted several dozen children. Kids separated by age fanned out in separate lined off squares and quickly collected plastic eggs filled with candy.
They also enjoyed face painting and could get their photo made with the Easter Bunny, played by Bob Pompeo of the Laurels of Hendersonville.
The Mills River Business Association, which formed last summer, now has 55 members, said Susan Adell, the association's president.
