United Religions Initiative elects 2014 trustees

The United Religions Initiatives of Henderson County elected a new Circle of Trustees during a retreat on Nov. 24.

Trustees for 2014 are Sandy Westin, President; Chris Berg, Vice-President; Ed O'Keefe, Secretary; Chip Berning, Treasurer; Lina Abuadas, Trustee; Stephen Fosberg, Trustee; Kitty Herriott, Trustee; Romella O'Keefe, Trustee; and Judith Scruggs, Trustee.

On New Year's Eve at 7 p.m., the URI and Interfaith Action of Henderson County will co-host a service of prayers and music from diverse faith traditions at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 900 Blythe Street. This year's theme, "Home," will focus on our many faiths' approaches to helping the homeless

Starting Jan. 9 Jane Reinoso will host our first Academy for Peace offering of the New Year, Conflict Resolution Through Nonviolent Communication.
