LIGHTNING PHOTOS: 24-hour Play Festival

Students from three high schools collaborated during the second annual 24-hour Play Festival.

Twenty-seven high school actors teamed with mentors from the Flat Rock Playhouse on Saturday to write and perform original plays in the second annual 24-hour Play Festival.


Hendersonville, North Henderson and West Henderson high schools participated in this year's festival; East Henderson was unable to participate.
This year's event was dubbed "Between the Rock & and a Hendo Place."
The plays, locations, prompts, cast, directors and mentors were:
"Legend of the Hopeful Maiden," Jump Off Rock, "Mo Money, mo problems." Cast: Urian Kyung, Rachel Allen, Austin Downing, Lucas Brwer-Bowman, Libby Evans, Jennie Battle, Lindsay Patton, Bree Miller, April Davis. Writers: Jerri Casteneda, HHS; Katherine Leatherman, NHHS; Katie Miller, WHHS. Mentor: Sam Yaeger. Director: Lisa K. Bryant, Flat Rock Playhouse.
"Hour Glass," Putt Putt course at Boyd Park. Cast: Katie Miller, Katlyn Searcy, Cooper Burke, Sabrina Taylor, Clare Little, Alex Ginn, Eleanor Palmer, Jordan Guilliams, Connor Harmsworth. Writers: Morgan Bouknight, WHHS; April Davis, NHHS; Sawyer Hatch, HHS. Mentor: Kerri Corlis. Director: Todd Weakley, HHS.
"Dinner at the Courthouse," Historic Courthouse," "You've got to know when to walk away and know when to run." Cast: Maddie Tweed, Erik Hinkle, Konrad Sanders, Chloe Eaton, Abby Nelson, Caroline Ryan, Katherine Leatherman, Jesse Cairnes, Morgan Bouknight.
