Donors to 'Step Into Philanthropy'

Supporters of charitable giving will "Step Into Philanthropy" for the annual Vintage Carolina fundraiser for the Community Foundation of Henderson County next month.


Vintage Carolina is 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, March 3 at the Hendersonville Country Club. The gala features fine local food, drink and musical entertainment. The cost is $100 per person. Proceeds help support the work of CFHC. The inclement weather date is Monday, March 10.

"Vintage Carolina is a gathering of folks who celebrate one of the best things about our community – our giving nature,"  McCray Benson, president and CEO of the Community Foundation. "And that giving nature crosses every generation in our community. It's the presence of all the people at Vintage Carolina that makes the occasion such a positive event. It uplifts the spirit of caring, inspiration and the vision needed for making progress as a community."
Cakes Du Jour, Chef Michael's Catering, Dandelion Eatery, Hendersonville Community Co-op, Hendersonville Country Club, Lake Pointe Landing, Season's at Highland Lake and Van's Chocolates are providing local delicacies. Wine and beer will be provided by Burntshirt Vineyards, Empire Distributors, Inc., Mutual Distributing Company, Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Skyland Distributing Company, Southern Appalachian Brewery, and Tryon Distributing Company.
The evening's entertainment will be provided by The CCC Trio featuring local string musicians Carla Wright, Cheryl Hagymassy and Carol Beck. Chris Coloson of Mr. C's Mobile Disc Jockey will provide dance music throughout the evening.

Since its founding in 1982, Community Foundation of Henderson County has been helping people who care make lasting contributions to causes that matter. The Community Foundation accepts gifts from individuals, families, businesses and organizations to create a pool of charitable dollars from which grants are awarded to address community needs. This past fiscal year, the Community Foundation received more than $3.6 million in contributions, had more than $77.6 million in assets and awarded more than $2.49 million in grants to nonprofits and scholarship recipients.
