On the heels of its announcement that it had met a $250,000 fundraising goal, the Flat Rock Playhouse received a new challenge grant for an additional $100,000, producing director Vincent Marini said."Immediately following the press conference today, we received the good news that we have another $100,000 donor who is issuing a challenge to the community to come up with $100,000 of additional funds between now and the end of the year," Marini said an email. "Those funds will be matched dollar for dollar up to $100,000. The donor wishes to remain anonymous but wants to encourage all citizens and governments who care about the arts in Western North Carolina to immediately consider giving a gift of personal significance to Flat Rock Playhouse. This gift is a major vote of confidence for the future of Flat Rock Playhouse."
