Here's the schedule for the Apple Festival

The 77th annual North Carolina Apple Festival runs Friday through Monday, Sept. 1-4, in downtown Hendersonville.

Leave pets comfortably at home.

  • Rest rooms are on Fifth AvenueWest, and on Main Streety at First Avenue and Barnwell Street.
  • The Children’s Area is located at the southern end of the festival in the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot as well as the Visitors Center parking lot.
  • Hours: The Street Fair along Main Street runs 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Monday the mini-street fair runs from 10 a.m. until the parade ends. Entertainment runs Friday, Satufday and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m. The food court and children’s area are also open into the late evening.
     
  • The food court is located at the southern end of the festival on Main Street in front of Wells Fargo Bank.

North Carolina Apple Festival Downtown Street Fair, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

Henderson County Heritage Museum, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Historic Courthouse.

Historic Downtown Hendersonville Merchants Sidewalk Sales, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Apple Growers/Beekeepers Educational Booth, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Main Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues.

Wells Fargo Kiddie Carnival, noon-8 p.m., 301 S. Main St. Tickets, $1-5 per ride. Sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank.

Mineral & Lapidary Museum Open House, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., 400 N Main St.

41st Annual Gem & Mineral Spectacular, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Whitmire Activity Center.

Vintage Tees at Piggy’s & Harry’s, 11 a.m.-8 p.m., 102 Duncan Hill Road.

Laurel Park Village Shopping Center Sidewalk Sales, Car Show and Music Venue, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

WNC Air Museum Open House and Air Craft Rides, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 1340 E Gilbert St.

Friday

Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, 7 a.m.-10 a.m., First United Methodist Church, 204 Sixth Avenue West. Tickets, $10 per person, all you can eat. Children 6 and under are free.

Apple Recipe Contest: 11 a.m.-noon, drop off entries; noon-1:30 p.m., judging, 1:30 p.m., announcement of winners. Historic Courthouse Plaza.

On stage

Showtunes with Matthew, 1:45-2:15 p.m.

Opening ceremony, 2:15- 3 p.m.

Jonah Riddle-Carolina Express, 3:14-4:45 p.m.

Hendersonville High School Orchestra, 5-5:30 p.m.

Soul to Soul — Senior Citizen Line Dance winners, 5:30-5:45 p.m.

Buddy K Big Band, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Saturday

Apple Festival Races presented by Hunter Subaru, 8-10 a.m., start-finish line at UNC Health Pardee, 805 Sixth Avenue West (between Justice and Oak streets).

Breakfast with the Elks, 7 a.m.-noon, Elks Lodge 1616, 546 N. Justice St. Tickets $10 in advance, $12 at the door, $8 for kids 6-12, kids under 6 eat free.

Monday

Downtown Mini Street Fair, 10 a.m.-end of the parade. The arts and crafts street vendor pull out Sunday night. On Monday the food court on South Main and the 14 apple vendors remain on the street to sell apples, cider, slushies, baked goods and more.

On stage: Tom Brown One-Man Band, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Antique Aircraft Flyover, kickoff for parade, sponsored by WNC Air Museum.

King Apple Parade, 2:30 p.m., Asheville Highway at Oakland Street, North Main Street to South Main Street at Caldwell Street.
