Workshops set on farm conservation easements

County governments and conservation nonprofit groups are invited to attend agricultural conservation easement workshops hosted by the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Farmland Preservation Division.

The workshops are for local governments, land trusts, conservation nonprofits and other entities involved in the application, recording and monitoring of conservation easements. Landowners interested in agricultural conservation easements for their working farm or forest may attend to learn more about the lifecycle of agricultural conservation easements.

The workshops are free and open to the public, but registration is required. Interested participants may register at www.ncadfp.org. Workshops will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the following dates and locations:

  • Nov. 2: N.C. Forest Service - Region One Headquarters, 2958 Rouse Road Ext., Kinston
  • Nov. 7: N.C. Forest Service - Stan Adams Training Center, 2832 Big Woods Road, Chapel Hill
  • Nov. 16: N.C. Forest Service - Mountain Training Facility, 6065 Linville Falls Highway, Newland
