Kindergarten registration is set

Parents of children entering kindergarten this fall are asked to register their children for school March 11-13. Children who will be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31 should be registered for kindergarten, the Henderson County school system said.

Registration is available at all 13 elementary schools: Atkinson, Bruce Drysdale, Clear Creek, Dana, Edneyville, Etowah, Fletcher, Glenn C. Marlow, Hendersonville, Hillandale, Mills River, Sugarloaf and Upward. Hours are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on March 11 and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. March 12 and 13.
Parents may also register children at school offices 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays before the school year ends and Monday through Thursday during the summer.
Students should be registered in their home district even if parents plan to request a transfer to another district or enroll in the Hendersonville and Bruce Drysdale year-round flex calendar program. Applications for reassignment should be turned in to the school requested during the month of April.
