Two EMS officials win advanced certificates

Henderson County Emergency Medical Services training officer James Teague and field training specialist John Carrico graduated on Feb. 22 from the EMS Management Institute at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.


"The EMS Department is proud of Jim and John's accomplishment in completing this class," EMS manafger Mike Barnett said. "Education in the management of EMS strengthens the department's ability to provide a high quality EMS programs to our citizens."

 

Teague and Carrico were among 29 EMS administrators and supervisors from the Carolinas who completed the program.

The Institute, founded in 1980, is a five-month certificate program designed for EMS supervisors, mid-level managers, training officers, and senior paramedics aspiring to leadership roles. The curriculum is designed to address the complex and evolving roles and challenges that supervisors face in today's EMS service.
