The Vaseyi Chapter of the Azalea Society of America is sponsoring "Go Green With Moss," presented by Mossin' Annie Martin at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at Bullington Gardens.
Mossin' Annie, a moss gardening expert from Brevard, will share the joys and eco-friendly aspects of mosses. "Mosses are great companion plants to use with azaleas and rhododendrons," she says. "Many of the bryophyte types that are indigenous to western North Carolina like the same acidic soil conditions that azaleas and rhododendrons like".
This program includes outstanding photography and pertinent information presented as a PowerPoint presentation. An exhibit of bryophyte specimens and moss-as-art creations provides a hands-on experience and the opportunity to take a closer look.
Bullington Gardens is located at 95 Upper Red Oak Trail, Hendersonville, NC, off Howard Gap Road. For directions go to www.bullingtongardens.org. For more information call Audrey Stelloh at 828-697-9959.
