Edwards lands a fourth Appropriations Committee assignment

U.S. Rep. Chuck Edwards has been appointed to a fourth House Appropriations Committee subcommittee, the State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Subcommittee, Edwards and Appropriations Chair Tom Cole announced Wednesday.

Edwards also serves on the subcommittees on Financial Services and General Government; Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies; and Labor, Health and Human Services, Education.

“We are living during a time when our national and global security are being threatened from many sides, and time is of the essence in making strategic decisions that will affect the course of world history," Edwards said. "My recent trip to Ukraine made it clearer than ever that if America wants to remain a world leader, we need to act like one. I’m honored to be entrusted to a position on the State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Subcommittee during such a critical juncture, and I look forward to making sure that the United States remains the leader of the free world because Americans and the rest of the freedom-loving nations are counting on us.”

“Since Chuck has been serving in the House, he has proven to all what a workhorse he is for the betterment of our country and the good of his constituents," Cole said. "I’m thrilled to have him join the House Appropriations Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs, where his level-headed and analytical approach to issues will benefit our nation’s foreign policies in such tumultuous times.”
