Playhouse holding auditions Monday for child actors

FLAT ROCK — Flat Rock Playhouse is holding auditions Monday for young people to fill select roles during the 2013 season.

The theater asked young actors to bring an accurate and up-to-date photograph and a listing of any shows they have been involved in, where they performed them and which specific roles they've played. They need not have any specific prior experience to audition. The auditions are from 4 to 8 p.m.

Here are the shows that are need young actors:
EVITA
Mainstage

Director/Choreographer: Richard J Hinds
Rehearsals: May 1 – June 5. Rehearsals will be limited to two evenings per week and a technical
rehearsal schedule will be forwarded in advance so parents can review the schedule before
committing their children.
Open: June 5
Close: June 30
Kids will rotate between performances. No child will be required to do more than 5 performances
each week. Kids are welcome to perform in as many shows as they like.
SEEKING: [Children's Chorus] – Male and Female singers 7-13 years old for the children's chorus at the end
of Act II. Males must be either boy sopranos or high tenors. Males and females must be able to sing
on-pitch and blend well with other students. Seeking approximately 20 young people for this unique
opportunity to perform with professional actors and participate in one of the largest shows of the

YOUNG COSETTE – Female singer 7-12 years old who can realistically play a 7-year-old. Must be
able to sing "Castle On A Cloud" on pitch.
YOUNG EPONINE – Female 7-12 years old who can realistically play a 7-year -old. Does not need to
sing, but must be an expressive young performer. May rotate with Cosette so please sing if able.
GAVROCHE – Male 7-14 years old who can realistically play a character who is between 8-11 years
old. Must be a strong singer with a reasonable range. Expressive, likeable young actor who is
unafraid of hanging out with students twice his age. Unlike Cosette and Eponine, Gavroche has a
large amount of stage time and will be involved in substantially more rehearsal including some late
night technical rehearsals. Rewarding, exciting opportunity for the right young man.
