MILLS RIVER — Henderson County sheriff's deputies has charged a local couple with breaking into a Mills River home and stealing a pillowcase full of valuables.

Arrested were Nicholas Jackson and Taylor Jackson, both 23, of 3682 Chimney Rock Road. They were charged with one count each of felonious burglary/forcible entry, and felonious obtaining money/property by false pretense.

At approximately 4:37 p.m. Thursday officers from the Henderson County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call at a residence off of NC 280 in Mills River.

The homeowner told deputies she spotted a suspect as he was fleeing her house with a pillowcase full of items from her home. As officers responded and further information was developed officers began checking pawnshops in the area and located a vehicle and persons matching an earlier description. A sheriff's detective stopped the suspect vehicle leaving a local pawnshop and recovered the pillowcase and other items taken from the callers residence.

Both Nicholas and Taylor Jackson were arrested without incident and remain in the Henderson County Detention Facility under $10,000 secured bond each. Detectives are continuing their investigation into the couple's possible involvement in other burglaries.
