New principals announced at EHHS, two elementary schools

Henderson County schools administrators have announced promotions and moves that have installed new principals at East Henderson High School and Mills River and Edneyville elementary schools.

Matt Gruebmeyer has been named the Director of Title I & Homeless Education for the Henderson County schools, replacing Anita Owenby. Gruebmeyer served as the principal for East Henderson High School for the last six years.
Scott Rhodes, Flat Rock Middle School principal for the past four years, will replace Gruebmeyer as principal of EHHS.

Chad Auten has been named principal at Mills River Elementary School, replacing Todd Murphy. Auten served as the principal of Edneyville Elementary School for the last six years.
Donna Brackett has been named the new principal at Edneyville Elementary School. Brackett is a National Board Certified Teacher with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of North Carolina at Asheville and a Master of Science Degree in Educational Administration from Western Carolina University. Brackett taught at Edneyville, Dana and Tuxedo elementary schools and has worked as a literacy coach and lead teacher at Upward Elementary School. She has served as an assistant principal at East Henderson High School for the last two years.
