Regulators fine camp for pesticide overspray

The N.C. Pesticide Board approved a settlement agreement for a Hendersonville Christian camp that regulators said had improperly applied herbicide.
Conrad Miller, manager of Courtney Retreat Center at 1344 N. Allen Road, agreed to pay a $600 fine for using Crossbow herbicide in a manner inconsistent with its labeling by allowing drift to damage trees and vegetation on property next to the area he treated, the pesticide board said in a news release.
The Hendersonville case was among 17 settlement agreements the regulatory board approved involving respondents in Catawba, Chatham, Davidson, Edgecombe, Forsyth, Henderson, Lincoln, Macon, Mecklenburg, Moore, Pitt, Sampson and Wake counties,
