Deckard selected for professional program

Kendall Deckard, a lead teacher at St. James School for Little Folks, was one of two candidates selected to engage in an exceptional professional development program throughout Western North Carolina.

Deckard has been chosen to participate in My Teaching Partner (MTP™), and will receive one-on-one coaching throughout the school year.
Through this unique professional development training, developed at the University of Virginia, MTP™, Deckard will work with an assigned coach for a period of 10 months to develop the skills and knowledge needed to improve the quality of teacher/child interactions that occur daily in a classroom.
