Edneyville High graduate honored for law work

Joy H. Brewer, a graduate of Edneyville High School, received the Woman of Justice Award from North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.

The Woman of Justice Awards recognize women across the state of North Carolina who have demonstrated leadership, integrity, service, sacrifice and accomplishment in improving the quality of justice and exemplifying the highest ideals of the legal profession.
The daughter of George Hoskin of Bat Cave, Brewer graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Campbell University's Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law.
She is a partner in the firm of Brooks, Stevens and Pope in Raleigh specializing in workers compensation law. She received the Business Practitioner Award.
