Cargo spill slows I-40 west traffic
The right lane of Interstate 40 westbound near Waynesville was closed until 3:30 p.m. Friday while crews cleaned up after a tractor trailer accident, the state DOT said.
A tractor trailer was traveling near Fines Creek Road (Exit 15) on I-40 westbound earlier today when it lost the load it was carrying. The tractor trailer didn't overturn, and crews are trying to put the load back on the truck.
Motorists should use caution when traveling through the area and seek alternate routes, if possible, to avoid delays.
