New cold front brings chance of snow

The frigid air will be back Monday night and this time it could bring snow.

 

Chance of snow in the Hendersonville area is 50 percent starting at 11 a.m.Tuesday, with less than a half inch accumulation possible, the National Weather Service said.

Cold air from the northwest is expected to mix with moisture moving up the coast, and in this case the central and eastern parts of the Carolinas are looking at more snow than the mountains, up to 4 inches in some areas.

Lows Monday night were expected to plunge to 17 degrees after a two-day break from the below-normal temperatures. The high Tuesday will reach around 29, with a low that night dropping to 13. Wind chill temperature could be as low as 0.
Wednesday should be mostly sunny, with a high near 30 and wind chill values as low as -1.Wednesday night will see lows around 11. A warmup comes at the end of the week, with a high of 38 on Thursday and 47 on Friday.
