Tri-color flag leads in poll

Vote on a new county flag.

Ever wondered why Henderson County has no official flag?

Henderson County commissioners have. How come the greatest county in the whole wide world, they asked, does not have a flag proclaiming its greatness. Or at least representing two symbols of our greatness — in this case the Historic Courthouse dome and the exalted apple.

They have asked voters to choose among five options, or make a recommendation. If you have a better idea, call Christine Hallingse at (828) 694-5003 or email PIO@hendersoncountync.org.

So, check out the flags in the slideshow then click on the link and vote in our poll.

So far the tri-color version that mimmicks the color scheme of the North Carolina flag is winning by an impressive margin, with 16 of 27 votes cast. But that's a small sample. So do your part and vote!
