Man charged with soliciting child by computer

A 37-year-old local man was charged Wednesday with a felony count of soliciting a child for sexual favors by computer.

The Henderson County Sheriff's violent crimes squad, using forensic analysis of electronic equipment, investigated the case. Deputies arrested Jonathan Eugene Albertson of Hendersonville at his home in a Jeter Mountain trailer park. An arrest warrant said he asked an 11-year-old girl for nude photos and "sexual favors in exchange for gifts."

He was jailed under a $5,000 bond and scheduled for a first appearance in Henderson County District Court at 9 a.m. today.
