Henderson County lists tax liens on real property

The Henderson County Tax Collector has advertised the annual notice of tax liens on real property for the 2013 tax year.

State law "requires tax liens be advertised in the name of the owner as of the date of delinquency," which was Jan. 7, 2014, the tax notice said.

If the taxes remain unpaid, "the Henderson County Tax Collector may foreclose on the tax lien and sell the real property to satisfy all claims of unpaid taxes," the notice said. "In accordance with North Carolina law, the Henderson County Tax Collector's Office uses enforced collection methods such as bank attachment, wage garnishment or rent attachment along with foreclosure. Should the use of any of these methods be necessary, any additional costs will be added to the amount of tax currently due."
