Heavy rain on the way followed by cool down

A cold front could bring heavy thunderstorms and up to 2 inches of rain on Thursday, giving way to a cool down and a nice weekend with highs in the mid 60s. The National Weather Service issued a flood watch until midnight Thursday.

The forecast calls for a 100 percent chance of showers and 1 to 2 inches of rain on Thursday until 3 p.m. There's a 60 percent chance of rain in the late afternoon and evening, the National Weather Service said.
Friday should be mostly sunny with a high near 67. There's a slight chance of showers before 10 a.m. Saturday before clearing and a high around 67 again.

A possible victim of heavy rain is Thursday's Rhythm & Brews concert, the kickoff of the summertime downtown concert series that drew crowd large crowds in its inaugural season last year. Downtown Hendersonville coordinator Lew Holloway said Wednesday the show will go on rain or shine — rain being more likely.
