Teacher of the Year named

Superintendent David Jones presents Sloan Neuburger with the 2014 Teacher of the Year award.

Sloan Neuburger, a North Henderson High School teacher of exceptional children, was announced as the Henderson County Teacher of the Year at a luncheon today at the Hendersonville Country Club.

Neuburger has taught in the HCPS for 14 years.

"I didn't come to this luncheon thinking that in a million years my name would be called," she said. "The key is that I reflect North and the teachers that I work with give everything to the kids and when you're around that you're inspired to do the same."

Neuburger was one of 23 teachers from the Henderson County School System honored.
