County farmers show top tom, sheep, hog

FLETCHER – Henderson County entrants took top honors in showing turkeys, sheep and hogs last week during the 2014 N.C. Mountain State Fair.

Open Heritage Turkey Show

Junior Wool Breed Show

The 2014 N.C. Mountain State Fair ended its annual run Sept. 14 with an attendance of 166,316. This year's livestock shows offered $165,533 in premium money. More than 3,800 animals were exhibited across 17 departments. More information about the fair is available at www.mountainfair.org.
