Ecusta Trail advocates set information meetings

The Friends of Ecusta Trail is holding Q&A sessions in Transylvania and Henderson counties this week and next.
The organization working for a rail-to-trail greenway from Hendersonville to Brevard said the public events are opportunities to learn more about the Ecusta Trail, ask questions, voice concerns or offer support. An economic impact video commissioned by the Friends of Ecusta will also be shown.
The events are 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at the Rogow Room in the Transylvania Library, and 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Kaplan Auditorium in the Henderson County Library.
The organization also touted the results of a HendersonvilleLightning.com opinion poll in which 94 percent of the votes were in favor of the Ecusta Trail. The number of votes — 1,252 — was the second highest number of votes for an online Hendersonville Lightning poll.
