School Board names elementary ed director

Rebecca L. "Becky" Poplin has been appointed as director of elementary education for the Henderson County schools.

Poplin has been a principal in three different school districts and a teacher at both the elementary and middle school levels.
During her career in the Henderson County schools, she has demonstrated positive leadership as the principal of Upward Elementary School, schools superintendent David Jones said in a statement. "While Mrs. Poplin has many strengths, it is clear that her collaborative approach to solving problems will be beneficial as the Director of Elementary Education," he said.
