Parking consultants to gauge leaf season demand

The consultant conducting the downtown parking study for the city of Hendersonville will return to Hendersonville Oct. 17-22 to continue field work and meet with residents, businesses and parking users, City Manager John Connet told the City Council last week.

During the field study consultants Dixon Unlimited will use technology as well as physical counts of parking space availability versus the demand, meet with focus groups made up of business owners, Main Street employees and downtown residents, and consider the peak demand of parking during a leaf season weekend.
The consultants will make a recommendation in November, staff will have a draft report by early December and will present a full report to the City Council in January.
