HSO features renowned pianist for 'Fiesta'

World-renowned Mexican pianist Jorge Federico Osorio joins the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra on Saturday for Fiesta, a performance of exceptional works by French, Brazilian and American composers.

Under the baton of conductor Thomas Joiner, the performance is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Blue Ridge Conference Hall of BRCC.
Fiesta will begin with the Orchestra performing "España, Rhapsody for Orchestra" by French composer Emmanuel Chabrier, the movingly beautiful "Prelude from Bachianas Brasileiras No. 4" by Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos, and Aaron Copland's "El Salon Mexico," which refers to "A Popular Type Dance Hall in Mexico City." Osorio will end the evening by playing the great Piano Concerto No. 5 in Eb Major, Op. 73 , "The Emperor Concerto" by Beethoven.
Osorio has been internationally acclaimed for his superb musicianship, powerful technique and deep passion. He has performed with the symphony orchestras of most major U.S. cities and in Mexico, Israel, Warsaw, Russia, Amsterdam and France. He famously performed all five of Beethoven's piano concertos over two consecutive days with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
