Fletcher switches to rollout garbage containers

FLETCHER — The Town of Fletcher will begin implementation of the new rollout cart garbage collection this week.
Fletcher residents will receive a door hanger flier within the next two weeks and a brochure with the new 95-gallon rollout cart when they are delivered starting Monday. The new garbage truck that has been equipped with machinery to lift the new carts will begin rounds this week, Town Manager Mark Biberdorf said.

The town asked that starting Monday residents begin placing all bagged trash in the cart and leave the cart in the same location they previously placed garbage cans or bags on the same collection day. Only bagged trash placed inside the cart will be collected. Recyclable material will be collected as it is now. If residents wish to dispose of their old garbage containers they may place them at curbside and mark them "disposed."
