Health Department offers flu shots at middle schools

The Henderson County Department of Public Health will hold seasonal flu vaccine clinics for K-12 students, teachers, staff and family members ages 3 and up at each county middle school.Both nasal spray and injection will be available. Insurance or cash/check is required to receive the vaccine. Nasal spray is $38; injection is $35. The health department accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC, United Health Care, MedCost, Health Choice and Medicaid.
Pregnant women and children under the age of 3 are not vaccinated at the clinics.
The time is from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Oct. 28: Hendersonville Middle
  • Nov. 3: Flat Rock Middle
  • Nov. 6: Apple Valley Middle
  • Nov. 21: Rugby Middle

The support of the Henderson County School System, Pardee Hospital and Park Ridge Health makes the clinics possible.
